LONDON (ENG) - In a match played at Wembley Stadium in London, Arsenal won the community Shield against Manchester City by 3-0. The Community Shield confronts the winner of the last season's Premier League Champion (Manchester City) and the FA Cup Champion (Arsenal).

The Gunners went to half-time leading by 2-0, thanks to the goals from the Spanish Santi Cazorla, 22', and the Welshman Aaron Ramsey, at the 42', while the French Olivier Giroud complete the final score with a shot from long distance at the 16' of the second half.

It was a game that lacked of many of the regulars of the starting eleven from both teams due to an injury, or to the participation of these players in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Caballero, who arrived this season from Malaga (Spain), stared at Manchester City's goal from the start; while Zuculini, a former Racing (Argentina), played his first minutes after entering at the 15' of second half. While Martin Demichelis, Pablo Zabaleta and Sergio Aguero, who were champions with the club at last season's Barclays Premier League, were not listed with the team because they recently started to practice on Monday, after participating in the World Cup Brazil 2014 with the Argentine national team and reaching the final against Germany.

On the other hand, Alexis Sanchez played the entire first half making his debut with the Arsenal Jersey, after being transferred from FC Barcelona this summer for an amount of £35 Million.

It was the Community Shield title number 13 for Arsenal, after winning it in 1931, 1932, 1934, 1935, 1939, 1949, 1954, 1992, 1999, 2000, 2003 and 2005.
